Kittredge Konnection – April 2, 2019

TODAY’S NEWS

Congratulations to the Entrepreneurship Club Students

Congratulations to our 2019 Kittredge Entrepreneurship Club students: Abby Gorin, Abby Gestrin, Alex Kegulskiy, Ari Bushler, Benjamin Madson, Cara Barakat, Jacob Bushler, Lachlan McConnell, Luke Vilhauer, Niko Hakkinen, Saphina Goodwin, Shane Nelson and Taylor Swanson. For the final project, their teams ran four different successful businesses for a day, raising more than $910 for the KPA!

We also want to thank their parents and the Kittredge community members who came out to support our young entrepreneurs. And of course none of this would have been possible without the leadership of Anatoly Bushler who volunteered every Thursday afternoon to be here inspiring our kids.

Thank you KPA!

Our talent show last week was a huge success and lots of fun. The whole school community thanks the KPA for their generosity in funding the beautiful venue that we all enjoyed. The reception in the atrium with coffee and light snacks was a wonderful way to begin the evening. Let’s do it again next year!

NIPSA Accreditation Team at Kittredge

On our first Monday back from break, there will be two important visitors at Kittredge. These guests will be looking in classrooms and talking to students and faculty alike to learn about our school and the program we offer.

Accreditations can be given for up to 7 years, which is what we had last time, and we are working to receive that level again.

Planning Ahead: Class Look-Alike Day is Thursday, April 18

We look forward seeing how our classes will dress on our first Thursday back from Spring Break. Each class will plan their dress code for the day and students are encouraged to dress accordingly. Please help your child join in the fun for this Student Council Spirit Day.

April’s Habit of Mind: Persisting

“It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.” ~Confucius

Students with the habit of persisting have a method for analyzing the problem; they know how to begin. They consider the steps that must be performed and what data or information they need to accomplish the task. They are able to sustain a problem solving process over time. They are comfortable with new challenges.

Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they never quit. ~Conrad Hilton
