2/3 Writing Celebration – Tomorrow
All of our 2/3 families are invited to join the 2/3 class in our courtyard tomorrow afternoon at 2pm. Students will share their poems and writing around a shared topic, Under the Sea. We hope to see the 2/3 families for this very special event.

7th and 8th Grades Hike On Thursday, Part 2
Our 7th and 8th graders were able to enjoy a beautiful walk to the Marina Green last week. Now, with their hiking boots broken in, they are ready to walk to Lands End and Ocean Beach. They will leave by 9am and arrive back at Kittredge for their regular pick up.
Please make sure your children have hearty lunches to help them through this busy day. A water bottle or two as well as a good attitude will all be required. Sun screen, sun glasses and a hat are not bad ideas, either. Should be a fun day!

NEXT WEEK’S NEWS
Valentines Day at Kittredge, February 14
We are looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14th. If your child will participate in a valentine exchange at school, please make sure they have enough valentines for everyone in their class. Please remember our school rule of no candy. Any candy treats that accompany valentines will be sent home and not consumed at school. Candy should be used minimally if at all.

NatureBridge: February 14 to 18
Next Monday, February 14, our 7th and 8th graders will head to Yosemite National Park for a very memorable outdoor education and bonding experience. We will be sending out our wishes for good weather!
Their bus will be here about 8:45 for a 9am departure. Please have your children at school on time and with all the gear for the week.

Noon Dismissal Next Friday, February 18
Students will be dismissed at noon next Friday and Extendo will be open until 6pm. Please use this google dismissal form to let us know where to dismiss your child at Noon next Friday.
There will be no school or Extended Day from Monday, February 21 to Friday, February 25.

Returning to School After Presidents Week Break
To ensure the safety of our community, we ask that you submit a covid test on behalf of your child on Sunday, February 27 as well as a second test on Wednesday, March 2. Kittredge will supply your child with a 2 pack of rapid tests for this purpose. We appreciate your help in keeping our community safe.

Summer At Kittredge
Your child is invited to join our 5-week summer program which is open to all students entering first through eighth grades. Mornings are designed to keep students active and their grade level skills strong. The afternoons offer a variety of free play and structured activities. This program begins June 20 and runs through July 22. The academic day runs 9am-noon. Before and after school care is available.
