Assembly tomorrow: Thinking Interdependently

Tomorrow, our students will discuss the importance of collaborating, remaining open to others’ perspectives, and how their thinking can be enhanced by the working with others. Listening, consensus-seeking, giving up an idea to work with someone else, empathy, compassion, all are behaviors indicative of those who benefit from thinking interdependently.

Your child may want to consider these questions: How can we work best together? How can I best contribute to this group? How am I affecting the group? How is the group affecting me?

Mask Guidance Change

By now, you should have received an email from ponbarry@kittredge.org. This email outlines the update to our mask guidance.

Beginning tomorrow, masking outside will no longer be required. Students can put masks in a pocket, under their chin, or on their wrist if they chose to take them off during outside activities. All students have also been given a mask holder to clip their mask around their neck if that makes it easier for them.

Inside, face coverings will continue to be required through March 23, 2022, allowing more time for families to get their elementary age children fully vaccinated.

You can update your child’s vaccine status here

Vaccines For 7th Grade Entrance

The state of California requires a Tdap vaccine for all students to be able to enter 7th grade in September. All current 6th graders entering 7th grade at Kittredge must turn in proof of this immunization by April 15th. If your child still needs the vaccine, please schedule it during Spring Break. If he or she already has it, please have your doctor send us the immunization record.

It is also likely that the state will require proof of a Covid Vaccination for 7th and 8th graders. We will send more details on this when we get them.
