To Our Kittredge Parent Community: Thank You!
From breakfast tacos to beautiful cake, we could not be more grateful for the generosity of our Kittredge parent community during teacher appreciation week! Parents this year truly went above and beyond to make us feel so, so special. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Futsal Makes the Finals!
After a hard-fought season, Kittredge’s varsity futsal team made it all the way to the finals! We have watched this team grow into a powerful unit, and we can’t wait to see our 7th graders return next year, and our 8th graders bring their athleticism to their new schools. All around, we are so impressed with the team this season. Go Kittredge!
High School Info Night for 7th Grade Parents
Mr. Young will hold a high school information night for parents of 7th graders only, tonight, Tuesday, May 16, from 6pm-7pm. We will try to answer any questions parents may have about the admissions process, financial aid, and the high schools themselves. Parents who have already gone through this process are invited to share their experiences.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
7th and 8th graders are heading to Oracle Park tomorrow, Wednesday, May 17 for a Giant’s game with Ms. Mara and Mr. Young! Parents, please remember to send your student with a packed lunch or a debit/credit card. Oracle Park does not accept cash payment at this time!! Backpacks are NOT allowed in the ballpark, not even clear ones. Smaller bags are permitted, but must be no more than 16” x 16” x 8”. Kids will return to school by 5pm.
5th Grade Goes to Angel Island
Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 17, the 5th grade class will head out to Angel Island for a field trip. As part of their Immigration unit, they will visit the Angel Island Immigration Station, and discover the role the island plays in the history of immigrants coming to San Francisco.
2/3/4 Celebration of Learning
Take a tour of the National Parks without leaving Kittredge School! Wednesday, May 17, parents of the 2/3/4 class are invited to the courtyard to see what their children have been working on! We hope to see you all here at Kittredge at 2:15.
Chess Club Year-End Party & Optional Tournament
To celebrate all the hard work we’ve done in Chess Club, we’ll be holding a year-end party and optional mini-tournament on Friday, May 19th from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM (Note the later end time to account for tournament logistics.)
We’ll have snacks, games, and an optional tournament for those who choose to partake in it. We’ll be running the tournament Swiss style, so each participant should get about three matches against evenly matched players. Again, please note the tournament is optional. For those who want to attend the year-end party and not participate in the tournament, we will still facilitate casual games, so please don’t let the tournament be a deterrent to attendance.
The cost of the year-end party/optional tournament is $20, payable by cash, check, or Venmo (@jeremy-mann-1).
Please email jeremyalexmann@gmail.com for any clarifying questions.

Beach Clean-up May 25th
The annual Kittredge Beach Clean-up will be Thursday, May 25.
This year, Kittredge is partnering with Surfrider for our annual beach clean-up. Surfrider is an organization that strives to eliminate plastic waste and beach pollution. As such, we are asking that families help us to reduce plastic waste being brought to the beach. Some ways to do this include: bringing homemade foods in a reusable container; transferring store-bought items into a reusable container and properly disposing of their packaging before bringing them to the beach; and bringing a reusable water bottle to eliminate plastic waste. Please remember to label your reusable containers to take home after the picnic. Thank you for doing your part to keep Baker Beach clean!
Last Study Hall Next Wednesday
Next Wednesday, May 24, is the last Study Hall of the school year. If you have an Extended Day contract, after-school care will be offered for the remainder of the school year. If you have a contract for Study Hall only, you can arrange for extended day drop in for $30/afternoon by emailing or calling our office.
Last Call for Extendo Next Friday!
There will be no classes on Friday, May 26th. If your child would like to attend extended day, please sign up using the following Google form:
If you do not have an extended day contract, the drop in fee for the day is $60. Please contact the office with any questions.
Memorial Day
As a reminder, Kittredge will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observation of Memorial Day. We wish your family a wonderful four day weekend!
Looking Ahead
Field Day
Coach Gules has been hard at work putting together another great Kittredge School Field Day. Once again, the whole school will go to Hellman Hollow in Golden Gate Park and enjoy team games and activities.
One again this year we will be celebrating Holi, known as the “festival of colors” because it celebrates spring. Students will be using organic colored powder to throw at each other so you can expect a messy, colorful, happy kid at pickup.
Graduation is Right Around the Corner!
And we can hardly believe it! It feels like the school year began just yesterday, and now we are a few short weeks away from watching our 8th graders cross that stage at The Vogue Theatre and receive their diplomas. We couldn’t be prouder of our incredible group of graduates.
