Screen-Free Week
Screen-Free Week at Kittredge has begun! Students have already begun their weeklong break from screen time, and will continue through this Sunday, May 7. Participants may use electronics for school assignments only.
The goal of Screen-Free Week is to encourage students to find other ways of keeping themselves entertained. This week, Kittredge students have reported reading books, playing board games with their family, and walking their dog instead of looking at a phone, tablet, or television. Other ideas for a screen-free evening include beginning a new art project, using a coloring book, practicing an instrument, or making dinner as a family.
A form will be sent out next week for parents to let us know if your child made it a whole week without screens!

LAST KPA Meeting of the year is TONIGHT!

End of the school year is almost here, and there are a lot of fun topics you won’t want to miss!
Last Hybrid meeting was in September, so please NOTE the 6pm start time.
A reminder that there is free childcare and free pizza at school during the meeting. Kids will be in the K-1 classroom and parents will meet upstairs on the 3rd floor. The Zoom link will be sent out with the Konnection email.
We will discuss the following topics:
Teacher Luncheon on June 7th-a yearly highlight for our teachers! They can forget their worries (and our kids), for 2 hours, and eat the delicious food we make/bring for them!
Teacher Gift Drive– End of May/June, KPA Money donations collected directly for the teachers (same as in December)
National Teacher Appreciation week- May 8-12. Teachers have preferred the Luncheon and the Gift Drive, as the ways we show our appreciation and the KPA focuses time and efforts on those events. However, please feel free to plan something with your class for this week, or let Jessica May-Shah know if you want to help organize a lunch/breakfast plan for the teachers this week. We have one parent who is planning to bring breakfast on Tuesday, 5/9 for all of the teachers. Also, please know you will have a chance to show your love again at the end of the year with the gift drive and luncheon!
End of Year picnic- 6/3 late afternoon or 6/4 morning, (Specific details coming soon) Come celebrate the End of the School Year at Rochambeau with food, games, and fun.
