Ms. Mara's 7th grade class gained a new student this week, Mila! We are so excited for her and her family to join the Kittredge community. Welcome, Mila!
Habit of Mind: Striving for Accuracy and Precision
October's Habit of Mind is Striving for Accuracy and Precision. This habit is all about being methodical, intentional, and precise. Whether you're working on a math problem or deciding how to best respond to someone, this month we encourage our students to ask themselves, "Did I give my very best to the world today?"
Open Houses
We are hosting an open house tonight at 7pm for prospective kindergarten families! There are additional open houses on October 19th and November 4th. If you know of anyone who is interested, please send them our way! We'd love to meet them.
Land's End Field Trip
Tomorrow, Kevin's 6th grade class will go on a walking field trip to Land's End! Students should plan on wearing weather-appropriate clothing (check your weather app - this week is our San Francisco summer!) and comfortable shoes, and should bring a water bottle and a hearty lunch to school.
Sports Report
This week we have two big sports events to look forward to!
This afternoon our Cross Country runners have a meet at McLaren Park at 4:00.
This Friday our volleyball team will face off against Synergy at Burkes at 5:45pm.

Hot Lunch
Hot Lunch is served! This Friday (10/4) our hot lunch will be a pork bun or pineapple bun (or both!). Fruit, carrots, and juice come with the meal. The sign-up form for Hot Lunch can be found in your Konnection email.

Character Day on Monday 10/7
Our first spirit day of the year, Character Day, will be next Monday! Students and staff are encouraged to come to school as a character from their favorite film, show, book, play, video game - whatever inspires you! If a costume comes with a weapon, even a pretend one, the pretend weapon should not come to school. We look forward to seeing Red Riding Hood, Super Mario, or even Harry Potter on Monday!
Looking Ahead
No School on Monday 10/14
Kittredge School will be closed for Fall Holiday on Monday, October 14th. We hope families enjoy the long weekend, and we will be back on Tuesday, October 15th!
Chess Club Starts in Two Weeks!
Chess Club is starting in just a couple of weeks! Wednesday, October 16th is the first meeting. Please see the flyer below to register!
8th Grade High School Days
Mark your calendars, 8th grade parents! Our 8th graders will be taking a couple of days off this month to visit high schools and work on their applications on Wednesday, October 16 and Thursday, October 24.
K-3 Pumpkin Patch Trip 10/21
Ms. Grazi's Kindergartners and Ms. Horrocks' second and third graders are heading to the Mickelson Pumpkin Patch on Monday, October 21. Please make sure your child has appropriate footwear, and clothing for this trip. A hearty lunch and full water bottle will set your child up for a successful field trip!

KPA Korner
Fall Fundraising Raffle and Count-Me-In Sign Ups Opening 10/3 at 7 a.m.
Be on the lookout on Thursday morning for an email with a link to the Fall Fundraising site. Purchase your raffle tickets for amazing prizes, like a weekend in Sonoma, an ATV tour for 2, 49er tickets, an orthodontic package and more! Plus, sign up for fun CMIs that are scheduled all year round. Kittredge families and teachers are sponsoring fun events like the Donut Hike, pottery decorating, Whiffle ball, a kids' basketball clinic, and much, much more!Thanks to all the parents and community members for their donations of goods, servies, time and creativity.
RSVP Deadline to Join us at the Fall Social 10/11
Greet old friends, make new ones, and enjoy food and drinks at the Stephens' house on October 19, 7:30-9:30 pm. This is the ONLY KPA-hosted social event this year, so check your email for an invitation via Paperless Post and RSVP by Oct 11! We'll be announcing the raffle ticket prize winners at the event.
