Picture Day

Picture Day is Wednesday, October 19. Parents should have received an email from MugsyClicks with more information about Picture Day and ordering. If you haven’t received an email, or have questions about Picture Day, please reach out to jamieavery@kittredge.org.

Looking Ahead

Halloween

Halloween is right around the corner! Students (and teachers) are encouraged to wear costumes all day, and participate in the Halloween spirit. Costumes may not contain any toy weapons, and anything that might interfere with learning (masks, wings, and other distracting accessories) should be kept in students’ backpacks during class time. As a reminder, Kittredge is a candy-free school.

Our annual costume parade will be on Monday, October 31 at 2:30pm. Parents are encouraged to meet students outside of Kittredge and march to Rochambeau Park, where our music teacher Gianfranco will lead the students in a Halloween song. Afterwards, students, parents, goblins, and ghouls may stay to mingle and celebrate the holiday. Parents must notify their child’s teacher before leaving the playground with their child.

Sibling Applications Due

Sibling applications to Kittredge are due Tuesday, November 15. Parents should ensure that they have filled out their applications, and received and submitted teacher evaluations, by this date. Have questions about the sibling application process? Don’t hesitate to reach out to the office. We’re here to help!

Count Me In!

A Count-Me-In (CMI) is a fun event that a family or teacher can host that helps raise money for our Kittredge community, but more importantly, helps to build our community.

Do you have a favorite hobby to share? Are you especially great at building cool beach sculptures? Do you need a reason to have a mini party? You can design an active outdoor activity (like a donut and a hike), an epic playdate (host a Lego party at your home), teach a skill (friendship bracelets or art project), share a passion (Harry Potter party!) or just gather for coffee and bagels at a playground. Anything you would like to share with others is a great reason to get families and kids together for some community fun.

Please contact Laura Julian (4th grade parent) at laurajjulian@gmail.com with any questions.
