8th Grade High School Days
It's been awfully quiet here at Kittredge this morning, and we think we might know why... the 8th grade class is missing! Today is one of two High School Prep Days we offer to our 8th graders. They take the day to see campuses, work on essays, and review their high school applications. The next High School Prep Day is next Wednesday, October 25.
Hot Lunch!
This week we're serving up hot dog buns along with baby carrots, clementines, and a juice box. You can still place your order here through Wednesday evening.
This Week in Sports
This week Kittredge volleyball will face off against CAIS at CAIS 19th Ave. The game is Thursday, October 19, at 4:00pm.
Please note, there will be a cross country practice today, Tuesday, October 17 and no practice on Thursday, October 19.
Crazy Hair Day
The first Spirit Day of the year, Crazy Hair Day, is this Wednesday, October 18. We can't wait to see Kittredge full of fun, funky hairstyles!
Green Energy Project
Green Energy Challenge is BACK at Kittredge this year by popular demand! This innovative, after-school, hands-on educational program teaches kids about climate change and energy science (click here for a brief video). This program, aimed at grades 3-7, will be taught by Kittredge alumni, Jacob and Ari Bushler, and other student educators from St. Ignatius College Preparatory. The previous courses taught at Kittredge were enthusiastically received by both kids and parents, so space will be limited. Please CLICK HERE to fill out a Green Energy Challenge Interest Form for your student. Forms are due Friday October 20th.

Sibling Applications Due
Sibling applications to Kittredge are due Wednesday, November 15. Parents should ensure that they have filled out their applications, and received and submitted teacher evaluations, by this date. Register for Chess Club Session Two!
Hello Kittredge community! My name is Jeremy, and I’m a passionate chess player and coach who is excited to share a love of this beautiful game with Kittredge’s students.
Chess Club is typically run in individual six week sessions. However, because of upcoming minimum days, this session will be a four-class session, ending before Winter Break. The second session will be held each Friday from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM from Friday, October 27th to Friday, December 15th, barring Kittredge minimum days and Fri, Dec 1st, when I'll be out of town.
This session will focus on teaching chess tactics.
Chess Club will be open to all Grade 1-8 students, regardless of previous experience with chess.
Each lesson will be split between a short 15-30 minutes of interactive instruction and 30-45 minutes of gameplay. While there is plenty to learn, our primary focus will be on creating a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment to enjoy chess and build community.
All materials will be provided.
This session will cost $100 per student (because it is a shorter session). Please fill out the below form to register your student:
Payment will be due on the date of the first session and can be paid via venmo to @jeremy-mann-1, cash, or check addressed to Jeremy Mann. Please email jeremyalexmann@gmail.com for any clarifying questions.
Halloween Parade
The Kittredge Halloween Parade will be Tuesday, October 31 at 2pm. Parents and siblings are encouraged to join us as we parade around the block before arriving at Rochambeau to sing Halloween songs led by Gianfranco.
To ensure that every child is accounted for, we kindly ask that you check out with Jamie before leaving the celebration with your child.

Halloween Help
