It’s Volleyball Season… First Game is this Thursday
Our first volleyball game will be on Thursday at UCSF Mission Bay. Our team is practicing twice a week and they are looking great. Thanks to the KPA, they practice indoors at Hi 5 Sports on Mondays. Everyone is welcome to attend a game and cheer the team on. Go Kittredge!

Academic Chess Begins this Friday from 3:10 to 4:10
If your child would like to attend this popular after school activity, please make sure that you complete the registration form and payment to Academic Chess. You can do this on-line at www.academicchess.com or you can get a form in the office. You can also print one out from here:
All students must be picked up at 4:10 unless they are part of our Extended Day Program.

This Friday – Cross Country Race
The Kittredge School cross-country team, the Running Gags, will have their second race on Friday! Runners practice on Mondays and Tuesdays after school and are getting stronger each week. Thanks again to parent coaches for your time and help… we couldn’t do it without you!

OCTOBER NEWS
NatureBridge Meeting for 7th and 8th Grade Parents and Students
October 4th from 6:30 to 8
All 7th and 8th grade families are encouraged to attend this informational meeting. Come learn about a typical day at NatureBridge. You will get an overview of the week in Yosemite Park as well as a feel for what we expect of each student academically and socially. You will also get a look at the new NatureBridge facilities in Wawona.
This is a very important meeting for 7th graders and their families and a good refresher for our 8th grade families.

No School Monday, October 8
As written in our school calendar, Kittredge will be closed on Monday, October 8 in celebration of the Fall Holiday. There will be no classes or Extended Day.

October High School Visit Days for 8th Graders
October 11 and 17 are “no school” days for our 8th grade students. These days are designed to allow 8th graders to visit high schools and work on their application essays without missing class time.

High School Admissions Representatives
Every year our 7th and 8th graders are fortunate to have the wonderful experience of meeting and listening to admissions representatives from many of the private high schools in the city. The representatives come to Kittredge and spend about an hour with our students explaining their school and answering questions. This is a very personal and special opportunity that our students receive as they are completing their high school admissions process.
So far they have met with reps from International High School, University High School, Urban High School, Riordan and Mercy High Schools, Xian Yun Academy of Arts, and The Marin School. In October they will hear from The Academy of Thought and Industry, Saint Ignatius, The Bay School, Convent and Stuart Hall, Drew High School, and Jewish Community High School.

MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
Quiz Bowl – Middle School Team Forming
Quiz Bowl is a game where two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge. Last year Team Kittredge won top places in all Northern California Middle School tournaments they attended. For more information, click here: quiz bowl
