Kittredge Konnection – September 27, 2022

This Week’s News

High School Visits

High school admissions are on the horizon! Last week, representatives from Waldorf School came to visit our eighth graders, and answered their questions about the school. On Monday, middle schoolers had a similar visit from Urban High School, and tomorrow they will be visited by St. Ignatius.

High school representatives will continue to visit throughout the month of October, with representatives from Sacred Heart (10/3), Riordan (10/5), San Francisco School of the Arts (10/19), Drew (10/24), and Jewish Community High School (10/26).

Photo Gallery

If you’ve been to a Kittredge event, you’ve probably seen Mr. Young somewhere in the distance, his camera focusing in on a hug, a high five, or a silly face. But did you know that all of these event photos are posted to the Kittredge website?

Under the gallery section, you can find albums from our events and activities, sports games, field trips, and spirit days. Take a look and find yourself, or your family, at this year’s Fall Picnic, Cross Country Meet, or Student Council Election!

You Go, Kittredge!

After weeks of practice, the Running Gags have their second meet of the season tomorrow, Wednesday, September 28th. The meet takes place at Crissy Field at 3:45. Go Gags!

Our varsity volleyball players have been hard at work too, practicing with Coach Gules to prepare for their first game of the season this Friday against Burkes. The game will held at St. Agnes, and starts at 3:45. Good luck, everyone!

Science Club with Ms. Rose

Kittredge’s very own Ms. Frizzle is back!

Ms. Rose’s much-anticipated Science Club returns this year on Wednesday, October 5. Parents should keep an eye out for more information coming home with students soon.

Music Lessons with Gianfranco

This year, our esteemed music teacher Gianfranco will offer a 6-class workshop in Classical Guitar or Piano. Each class will be a 30 minute one-on-one lesson.

Students who are beginners will explore basic methods and techniques with their instruments such as chords, scales and reading musical notations. They will also learn a song from the Suzuki Method Guitar Book, or from the Piano Adventures series.

Intermediate or advanced students will focus on enhancing their technique, and building their musical repertoire.

Each 30-minute class is $45.

Looking Ahead

Fall Holiday

It’ll be here before we know it! Fall Holiday is on Monday, October 10. School will be closed, and Extended Day will not be available. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 11.

Picture Day

Wednesday, October 19 is this year’s Picture Day. Students can look forward to dressing their best, and taking portraits and class photos to look back on fondly.

Field Trips

There are two field trips to look forward to in the coming months:

On Wednesday, October 26th, kindergarten through 4th grade will be getting into the Fall spirit by visiting a pumpkin patch. We can’t wait!

On Tuesday, November 1, the entire Kittredge School will visit the Academy of Science. Please make sure you’ve turned in your driver information form – you won’t want to miss out on the fun!
