Academic Chess Begins this Friday from 3:10 to 4:10
Please make sure that you complete the registration form and payment to Academic Chess if your child will be attending. You can do this on-line at www.academicchess.com or you can get a form in the office. All students must be picked up at 4:10 unless they are part of our Extended Day Program.

As written in our school calendar, Kittredge will be closed on Monday, October 12 in celebration of the Fall Holiday. There will be no classes or Extended Day.

Skip packing lunches on Fridays and sleep in a little longer. The October Hot Lunch Form is available — just click here: HL Oct. Please return it with your child by Thursday if you would like to order a Friday lunch. (Please note that snacks are not included in our lunches.)

High School Visit Days for 8th Graders
October 14 and 20 are “no school” days for our 8th grade students. These days are designed to allow 8th graders to visit high schools and work on their application essays without missing class time.

Sibling Applications are Due November 16th
If you would like to have a sibling be considered for our 2016 early decision, our TADS on-line application is available for you now. Please complete the application and the teacher forms by November 16th. Early decisions will be sent December 15.

Volley Ball Season!
Our volleyball team played their first game yesterday and looked great. There are still 5 more games scheduled in October and the team is getting better every day. Everyone is welcome to attend a game and cheer the team on. Go Kittredge!

First Student Council Meeting
Our newly elected Fall 2015 Student Council met yesterday at lunch. Jared led a great meeting as President and Andrew took accurate minutes as secretary. UNICEF, bake sales and spirit days will be discussed at the next meeting.

High School Admissions Representatives
Every year our 7th and 8th graders are fortunate to have the wonderful experience of meeting and listening to admissions representatives from most of the private high schools in the city. The representatives come to Kittredge and spend about an hour with our students explaining their school and answering questions. This is a very personal and special opportunity that our students receive as they are completing their high school admissions process.
So far they have met with reps from the Urban School, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Marin School and Stevenson Boarding School. In October they will hear from University High School, The Branson School, The Bay School, Marin Academy, The Jewish Community High School, Convent and Stuart Hall, Drew College Prep, and Lick Wilmerding High School.

Kittredge Parents Book Club – November 5th
The Parents Book Club (PBC) is open to all Kittredge parents. For the first trimester, we are reading the book “Raising Kids Who Read” by Daniel Willingham.
Our wonderful, talented and insightful 7th and 8th grade literature teacher, Debra Dharmer is leading the book club and looking forward to sharing the book with you and further cultivating our special Kittredge community. Come join the discussion on November 5th from 6 to 7:30.
