Terry Young, High School Placement Counselor

 

Mr. Terry Young is in his 45th year at Kittredge. Recently retired from the classroom after serving there since 1979, he remains the High School Placement Counselor, a position he has held for 37 years. Mr. Young is Kittredge School’s representative to the Bay Area Independent Schools High School Placement Counselors organization, which he helped to form. His record of helping students gain admission to San Francisco’s best high schools speaks for itself.

 

A native of Philadelphia, he received both his BS in Secondary Education and his teaching credential at Temple University, and his MA in Secondary and Post-secondary Education at San Francisco State University. Mr. Young sits on the Board of Directors of the National Independent Private Schools Association (NIPSA), where he has served as Western Region Vice President for Accreditation.
